Jemison’s girls basketball team shook off an early funk and came back for a 30-27 win over Holtville on Monday in a game that was a tune-up for the area tournament.

Thorsby student passes away from leukemia

A 10-year-old boy from Clanton, who was diagnosed with leukemia in January, has died. Logan William Pledger passed away Friday, Dec. 2 at Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.

Man arrested for impersonating police officer

Jemison police arrested a man Thursday for impersonating a police officer. Paul Adam Pullen of Vestavia was charged with impersonating a police officer and booked in the Chilton County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Commission votes for 3-way stop in North Chilton County

The Chilton County Commission voted Monday to allow Engineer Tony Wearren to begin the process of installing a three-way stop at the intersection of county roads 152 and 157, near Smokey Hollow restaurant and Interstate 65 Exit 219.

Report on school due back soon

Environmental engineers should report back to Thorsby about the status of the old elementary school building early next year. The last samples needed for testing were pulled from the school Monday.
