Mr. and Mrs. Neal Clements of Jemison are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Holley Elizabeth, to Michael Allen Precise of Geneva.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bette Cofer, the late Mr. L.J. Cofer, the late Mrs. Lucille Clements and the late Mr. Pat Clements, all of Jemison. She graduated from Jemison High School in 2005 and Troy University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

She is currently employed with the Troy City School System at Charles Henderson Middle School and is pursuing her Master of Education in Elementary Education at Troy University.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Carl Precise of Geneva. He is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Zahari of Little Rock, Ark.; Mr. Neal Ferguson of Odessa, Texas; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Precise of Geneva. Michael graduated from Geneva High School in 2005 and Troy University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

He is currently employed with Dixieland Dental in Midland City and pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Troy University.

The wedding will take place at Jemison First Baptist Church on Nov. 20, 2010, at 5 in the evening.

Bices to celebrate 50 years

Burey and Joyce Bice of Jemison will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary March 27 from 1-3 p.m. at Thompson Chapel.
The couple was married in a small ceremony Jan. 7, 1960. Their children, Connie and husband Patrick, and Keith and wife Judith, are holding a reception in their honor and wish to invite friends and family.

Porters celebrate 50 years

George and Ann Porter of Jemison recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married in a home wedding on Jan. 30, 1960. Many friends and family know the Porters as “G.T.” and “Annie Merle.” They have been lifelong residents of Jemison and are well known and loved in their community.
The two celebrated their anniversary at home with well wishes from their children, Shelia and husband, Wade; Pam; Anthony and wife, Kandye; and Cassandra and husband, Bryan. They also enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, Blake and Summer Raines; Trevor and Kelsey Porter; and Heath and Allison Edge.

Martin-Smitherman to wed

Shannon Martin of Thorsby and Josh Smitherman of Clanton are happy to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride elect is the daughter of Paul Tackett of Tower Hill, Ill. And Carlotta Stibich of Branson, Mo., and the granddaughter of Marcella Logan of Vanceburg, Ky. She is a graduate of Branson High School and is majoring in elementary education at Southwest Baptist University. She is currently a homemaker.
The prospective groom is the son of Gerald and Tammy Smitherman of Clanton, and the grandson of James and Charlotte Smitherman, Sammy Wyatt and the late William Wyatt, all of Clanton. He is a graduate of Isabella High School and earned a degree in horticulture from Auburn University in 2007. He is currently self-employed.
The wedding is scheduled for March 13, 2010, at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Schoener, Smith engaged

Melia Schoener and Randall Smith, both of Jemison, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Ellen Jones of Maplesville. She is the granddaughter of Sue and Rufus Downs and the late John T. Seales.
Schoener is a 1996 graduate of Maplesville High School and obtained her certification as a nursing assistant from Wallace Community College.
She is currently a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother of three children.
The prospective groom is the son of Howard Smith and the late Mildred Smith of Maplesville.
He is a 1979 graduate of Maplesville High School and later earned a degree as a machinist from Wallace Community College in 1994. Smith is employed at the International Paper mill in Prattville.
The wedding will take place Feb. 26, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the courthouse.

He works for the Elmore County Board of Education.

Allen-Woodruff to wed

She graduated from Isabella High School as salutatorian in 2004 and is a 2009 cum laude graduate of the University of Montevallo. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Sarah Nelson of Montevallo and the late Raymond Nelson, and the late Ollie Woodruff Sr. and Minnie (Bea) Woodruff. He graduated from Montevallo High School in 2003 and received his associate’s degree in automotive service from Virginia Tech in 2005 and is certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT. He is currently employed at Jim Walter Resources and is a medic in the United States Air Force Reserves.
The wedding is Nov. 28.
