Louis “L.D.” Douglas Watley, 72, of Jemison died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.
He was born on Friday, Aug. 20, 1937, in Chilton County, son of the late Ollis Watley and the late Junie McCary Watley.
He was a construction supervisor.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Joyce Watley of Jemison; son, Mr. Douglas (Edith) Watley of Jemison; two daughters, Mrs. Kathy Hilyer of Jemison and Mrs. Peggy (Joe) Baker of Clanton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist with the Rev. Clint Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Thorsby.
