Rebs have chance at perfect regular season

JEMISON — Thorsby on Dec. 15 ran its record to 8-0 with a 44-26 win over Jemison.
The Rebels have nine regular season games left on their schedule—and none against a team they haven’t already beaten, making an unbeaten regular season a possibility.
Thorsby will participate in the county basketball tournament in January, and their path through the field isn’t known yet.
So far, though, the Rebels have been untouchable, winning games by an average of more than 24 points.
But Jemison (1-7) kept it closer than that. In fact, the hosts trailed only 14-12 at the end of the first quarter.
Thorsby held Jemison to only one point in the second quarter, though, and won comfortably.
Sharonda Cooper scored 15 points for the Rebels, and Amanda Hubbard had 12.
Shelby Griffin led Jemison with nine points, and Shelby Lopez scored eight.
