JEMISON – Chilton Christian Academy’s boys and girls basketball teams were victorious on Dec. 4, the school’s Homecoming.
The boys team (9-2) defeated Mellow Valley (Ashland), 58-37, behind Tim Harris’ 22 points and 16 rebounds. Tyler Gray contributed 14 points and seven rebounds.
The girls team (6-2) won, 40-17, and was led by Summer Hall’s 15 points.
Greda Brock, Alissa Harris and Jessica Standifer all scored six points.
Hall was named Homecoming Queen shortly after the girls game, and Hannah Bolton was named Elementary Princess.
On Dec. 1, both CCA teams played their conference openers, at Brooklane.
The boys team won, 60-45.
Sophomore guard Matthew Klein scored 15 points, Gray, a junior center, had 12 points and junior forward Zach Brown added 11 points.
The girls team fell, 46-44.
Standifer scored a team-high 15 points.
Freshman center Destiny Richards was just shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, and another freshman, power forward Rebekah Kirkland, had 10 points.
