Robert Colenza Yeargan, 83, of Clanton died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at his residence.
He was born Saturday, June 12, 1926 in Anniston, son of the late Eddie Ray Yeargan and the late Gertrude Clark Yeargan.
Mr. Yeargan retired from the Navy following 20 years of service to his country. He then went on to retire from the Chilton County Road Department after 20 years of service.
Surviving are his brother, Mr. William C. Yeargan of Birmingham; sister-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Beam Parsons of Clanton; three stepsons, Mr. Ronnie Sammons, Mr. Roger Sammons and Mr. Scotty Sammons; nine nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by Mrs. Virginia Sammons Yeargan, wife.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at  11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Nobles officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Jemison.
The family requested no flowers but that donations be made to Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Martin Funeral Home directed.
